Nicholson War Memorial, Leek
FRIENDS OF THE NICHOLSON WAR MEMORIAL
Restoration

The Friends of The Nicholson War Memorial have been established to preserve and enhance this unique structure. The building already has Grade 2 listed status and one of the aims of the Friends is to obtain Grade 1 status.

The last time the building was professionally cleaned and repaired was in 1992 at a cost of £30,000.

This year a condition and maintenance report is to be carried out to establish if any structural repairs are needed. The Friends and the Town Council are also seeking grants and funding to enhance the public space around the memorial and to build a ramp to the rear of the Memorial to allow disabled access up to the plaques and immediate precinct surrounding the Memorial. You can download draft plans below.
